Usman Bello-Suru, the PDP head in Kebbi, made the accusation in a statement on Friday. However, Mr. Idris’ administration dismissed the charge as the ranting of a defeated opposition.

The PDP claims that the government invested N20 billion in beautifying Birnin Kebbi despite significant difficulties in the entire state.

“People in the Zuru emirate have been enduring impassable roads for a very long time; N7 billion would have been sufficient to address this issue.

When over 10,000 residents are dispersed and displaced due to banditry, it is known that the state governor spent close to N2 billion on domestic and foreign travel that had no influence on human development, said Mr. Bello-Suru.

The Kebbi government was also accused by the PDP of being incompetent, distributing “toxic” fertilizer to farmers, ignoring the health sector, and giving pointless contracts. The opposition party also criticized the decision to award the N10 billion contract for the state secretariat project’s completion.

Governor Ahmed Idris’ spokesman responded to the allegations by saying, “I want to confirm to the general public that many PDP members are now supporting the policies and programs of the current administration in Kebbi in light of the governor’s developmental efforts. It is not a secret matter.

“Some PDP members willingly went on air to commend Governor Nasir Idris for achieving a lot in such a brief amount of time,” continued Mr. Idris. In fact, I noticed a large number of PDP members at the celebration of their 100th day in power.

National Legal Adviser of the APC, Abdulkareem Kana, made the allegation during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today where he blamed the NNPP leadership in Kano State of masterminding protests targeted at removing Ganduje from his position.

Kana maintained that the NNPP’s efforts would be unsuccessful in their goal to destabilize the APC, asserting, “These actions are aimed at scratching our surface, but they lack the capability to destabilise us.”

Kana defended Ganduje’s track record, stating, “I’ve had the privilege of working closely with Ganduje, and I’ve witnessed his dedication and inclusive leadership. He’s a seasoned administrator, and his contributions to our party are invaluable.”

In response, the National Publicity Secretary of the NNPP, Ladipo Johnson, dismissed the allegations, characterizing the APC as a “confused party led by a delusional leader.”

Johnson stated that Kwankwaso has no involvement in Ganduje’s internal party issues, arguing that the APC chairman’s difficulties are of his own making and not due to any external interference.

Johnson remarked, “Ganduje’s troubles stem from his own actions, not any external interference. He’s currently embroiled in conflicts with his ward’s party executives and lacks the courage to face the charges against him in court.”
